Terms & Conditions

Orders, payment, delivery, returns and legal information

By placing an order on de Sol de Mayo online store, the Customer accepts these Terms & Conditions in force at the time of the order.

Sol de Mayo may update these Terms & Conditions at any time. The applicable Terms & Conditions are those published on the website at the time the order is placed.

Throughout these Terms & Conditions, “Sol de Mayo” refers to Monica Pigliacampo trading under the brand Sol de Mayo, and “Customer” refers to any consumer purchasing Products on the website for personal use.

2. Products

The Products offered for sale on www.sol-mayo.com include handmade lighting, alpaca soft toys, baby essentials, accessories and other textile or decorative objects.

Sol de Mayo takes care to describe and present each Product as accurately as possible. However, because many Products are handmade, small variations in colour, texture, dimensions or finish may occur. These variations are part of the handmade nature of the Products and do not constitute defects.

Product images are provided for guidance. Sol de Mayo cannot guarantee that the colours displayed on the Customer’s screen will exactly match the actual Product.

3. Orders

Product offers are valid as long as they are visible on the website and subject to availability.

Before confirming the order, the Customer can review the selected Products, delivery information, total price and correct any errors.

After the order is placed, the Customer will receive an order confirmation email with the order details.

Sol de Mayo reserves the right to cancel or refuse an order for a legitimate reason, including Product unavailability, incorrect pricing, incorrect Product information, abnormal order request, existing payment dispute or suspected fraudulent payment. In such cases, the Customer will be informed by email and, where applicable, refunded.

4. Prices and Payment

Prices are displayed in euros and include VAT where applicable, excluding delivery costs.

Delivery costs are added before order confirmation and depend on the delivery destination and shipping method.

For deliveries outside the European Union, customs duties, import taxes and any other charges required by the destination country are the responsibility of the Customer.

Sol de Mayo reserves the right to change prices at any time. The price applicable to the Customer is the price displayed at the time the order is confirmed.

Payment is made online by the payment methods available on the website. The order is processed after payment confirmation. If payment is refused or cannot be completed, the order will be cancelled.

5. Delivery

Orders are processed after payment confirmation.

In-stock Products are usually prepared for shipment within 7 working days.

Made-to-order Products, including handmade lighting, may require a longer production time, which is indicated on the relevant Product page.

Products are delivered to the address provided by the Customer at the time of order. The Customer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address.

Sol de Mayo cannot be held responsible for delays or failed delivery caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery information provided by the Customer.

Delivery is usually made through La Poste Colissimo or another suitable carrier.

Estimated delivery times are indicative and may vary depending on the destination, carrier and Product availability.

Customers outside the European Union are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes or local charges required by the destination country.

6. Legal Guarantee of Conformity

All Products sold by Sol de Mayo benefit from the legal guarantee of conformity under French consumer law.

The Customer may rely on this guarantee for any lack of conformity that appears within 2 years from delivery of the Product.

If a Product is defective or does not conform to the order, the Customer must contact Sol de Mayo at contact@sol-mayo.com with the order number, a description of the issue and, where possible, photographs.

If the lack of conformity is confirmed, Sol de Mayo will offer the Customer a solution in accordance with applicable consumer law, such as repair, replacement, refund or another appropriate remedy.

In the case of a confirmed defective or incorrect Product, return shipping costs will be covered by Sol de Mayo.

The legal guarantee does not apply in cases of misuse, negligence, normal wear and tear, improper care, alteration or damage caused by the Customer.

7. Returns Policy & Right of Withdrawal

Customers in the European Union have the legal right to withdraw from their purchase within 14 days from the date they receive their order, without having to provide a reason.

To exercise this right of withdrawal, the Customer mustcontact Sol de Mayo by email within this 14-day period at:

After receiving the request, Sol de Mayo will confirm the return by email and provide the return instructions.

Returned Products must be sent back unused, undamaged, in their complete original packaging and with all original tags attached. Any Product that has been worn, washed, altered, modified or damaged will not be accepted for return, and no refund will be granted.

Return shipping costs are the responsibility of the Customer, unless the Product received is defective or incorrect.

Exclusion of the Right of Withdrawal — Bespoke & Made-to-Order Products

In accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to Products made to the Customer’s specifications or clearly personalised.

This includes custom-made, bespoke, personalised or made-to-order Products.

These Products cannot be returned or refunded, unless they are defective or incorrect.

Refunds

Once the returned Product has been received and inspected, Sol de Mayo will inform the Customer by email whether the return has been accepted.

If the return is accepted, Sol de Mayo will process the refund using the same payment method used for the initial purchase.

Refunds will be processed within 14 days from the date Sol de Mayo is informed of the Customer’s decision to withdraw. However, Sol de Mayo may withhold the refund until the returned Product has been received or until the Customer provides proof of shipment, whichever occurs first.

8. Intellectual Property

Sol de Mayo® is a registered trademark belonging to Monica Pigliacampo.

All designs, models, illustrations, photographs, images, logos, texts and other content appearing on www.sol-mayo.com remain the exclusive property of Sol de Mayo or their respective rights holders.

Any reproduction, distribution, modification or use of this content without prior written authorization is prohibited.

9. Force Majeure

Sol de Mayo shall not be held responsible for any delay or failure to perform its obligations caused by an external, unforeseeable and irresistible event beyond its control, including but not limited to natural disasters, strikes, transport disruptions, epidemics, war, fire, flood, interruption of energy supply or other events considered force majeure under French law.

In such circumstances, Sol de Mayo’s obligations will be suspended for the duration of the event.

10. Consumer Mediation

In accordance with French consumer law, the Customer may have access to a consumer mediation service in the event of an unresolved dispute with Sol de Mayo, after first contacting Sol de Mayo in writing at:

The details of the appointed consumer mediator will be added to this page once the mediation service has been formally designated.

11. Applicable Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by French law.

In the event of a dispute, the Customer may contact Sol de Mayo to seek an amicable solution before taking further action.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects the mandatory rights granted to consumers under applicable consumer protection law.
